About Cathie Ransom

Cathie Ransom is the Founder & Owner of Los Willows Private Wedding & Event Estate in Southern California. She began her vision for a premier garden wedding venue near San Diego in the 1990s and still continues to refine the estate and its hospitality. During COVID-19, Ms. Ransom was a leader in the local wedding industry, developing a mini-wedding package that stayed within California’s guidelines. Married to a former Marine Colonel, Cathie and her husband Al host Vows for Vets every year - a free wedding for a military couple at Los Willows.

Meet Brandy & Buffy

Brandy and Buffy have a really ruff life at Los Willows. With over 18 acres to roam around on, you may run into these two on non-wedding days. Brandy’s favorite thing to do is retrieve sticks or, in some cases, branches. Buffy prefers to meet and greet with whoever has a treat.

I wear many hats because that is how it is in this special industry. I have been working in Food & Beverage Service for over thirty years and with that experience I truly know food, from preparation to presentation and I know just about everything you need to know about hosting a successful bar. You will also see me involved with our banquet staff ensuring everything goes according to plan.

For over 22 years, weddings have been my passion. I like to think that we are in the “happy” business making dreams come true at each and every celebration. If there are compliments that we hear over and over again, they are, “this place is magical.” My family and I can’t take all the credit since our natural surroundings are definitely the cornerstone to this magnificent place. What I can say is we at Los Willows host only one celebration at a time so the entire focus is on you and your special moment, where memories last forever.
